| The ORPI Morocco Rally 2006 Starts May 31- June 5 Total : 2 268 Km Liaison : 589 Km SS Distance : 1 679 Km The course will offer the competitors, a sample of the different grounds that they will have the possibility of testing during the 6 days of the run. In particular, at half way, they will meet with the dunes of Merzouga and the famous Erg Chebbi. |

DAKAR RALLY 2006 |
The 2006 Dakar begins on December 31st in Lisbon, Portugal and runs through Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, and Guinea before finishing in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal. The race covers all types of terrain, from mountains to sea level and farmland to desert. Competitors can encounter snow and sub-zero temperatures as well as sandstorms and searing heat in the desert. The 16-stage Dakar race covers more than 6,000 miles in just over two weeks. Chris Blais - Bike #9 2006 Dakar Rally Daily Results and Final Comments "Finally, I made it all the way to Dakar safe and sound. I'm so happy right now!" exclaimed an elated Chris Blais #9 from the comfort of his Dakar, Senegal hotel. “There’s nothing like coming off the trail and seeing this place. It was such a relief. Today my goal was to get to Dakar and maintain my position. “Everything went great for me during this rally,” reflected Blais. “My mechanic Matt Spencer kept my KTM [660 Rallye] going perfectly every day and the entire Red Bull KTM US Dakar team really pulled together to make my finish possible.
